Barbara Morsa, JD, ERYT500, YACEP
Functional Medicine Health Coach
I’m Barb Morsa, founder of The Morsa Method, an integrative health and happiness practice. I consider myself a health and wellness advocate, a coach, and a guide to help you find your best self now, no matter where you’ve been, what you’ve tried, or what you may be battling.
The Morsa Method is an integrative health practice devoted to quantum healing - blending the best of both Eastern and Western modalities to create true health and happiness on all levels - body, mind, and spirit. I believe we were divinely designed to heal ourselves and it is our birthright to live a life that is vibrant, healthy, and filled with joy.
My Story
My journey to true health has been a long and sometimes winding path, but along the way, I have learned so much that it has inspired me to help others overcome the physical and mental challenges that can block us from leading inspired lives.
My personal health and happiness journey includes:
-
A ruptured appendix and abdominal surgery at age 2, followed by a long course of antibiotics and many months in and out of the hospital.
-
Years of recurrent childhood ear infections treated with antibiotics.
-
Years and years of excema so extreme my skin would crack and bleed and I would often wear bandaids to school to hide myself.
-
Years of IBS with constipation.
-
In high school, I became a vegetarian and saw a HUGE improvement in overall health on a plant-based diet.
-
In law school, faced with overwhelming stress, I turned to unhealthy coping strategies like overeating convenience and junk food, smoking, and alcohol. Did I mention I barely slept during this time?
-
After my first year of law school, I had gained almost 50 pounds, I smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day, I had suffered from several bouts of food poisoning, and my IBS was back with a vengeance. In short, I was a total mess, my gut was in shambles, and I felt terrible all the time!
-
Finally, at age 23 and totally fed up with how I looked and felt, I turned to yoga, meditation, and exercise as a way to return to health, reduce stress, and take charge of my life again. And guess what? It took time, but it worked.
-
Committing to consistent exercise and daily meditation made me aware of my eating and lifestyle choices and how they were impacting my health and happiness. I changed my diet, returning to a mostly plant-based Mediterranean diet, which I have embraced for years and have even learned to love.
-
As a young trial lawyer, I was under tremendous stress on a regular basis. My commitment to a healthy lifestyle, including a regular meditation and yoga practice, daily exercise, rest, and a clean, whole foods diet rich in superfoods, helped me to deal with stress and maintain my physical and mental health.
-
In 2002, my son, Asher, came home from South Korea and I became a special needs mom. Our healing journey together over the past 18 years is its own story...
-
In 2008, I left the full-time practice of law to follow a new path of health and wellness as a yoga, meditation and dharma teacher.
-
In 2013, I co-founded Indigo Yoga and the Indigo Yoga Teacher Training Program.
-
In 2017, I contracted CDIFF following a round of prophylactic antibiotics. I became septic and ended up in the ICU. The infection nearly killed me, but the journey back to health has only reaffirmed my commitment to healing myself and helping others.
-
From all of these and many more life experiences, I live to share my light with others so that they may heal themselves.

With love, light & gratitude,
Barb
